Where are you from?
I was born and raised in New Orleans and am a graduate of Orleans Parish Schools Lusher Charter School C/O ‘10.
What did you do before teaching with NOLA_CODE?
Before teaching with NOLA_Code I was a music teacher with 4 New Orleans music non-profit organizations. I was a working musician and classical music advocate. I advocated to put string music education back in our Orleans Parish schools. I was also a coordinator for 2 non-profit organizations (New Orleans String Project and Project Prodigy).

What grades do you teach?
2nd – 8th grade.
What’s your favorite part of teaching Computer Science?
I love teaching children the principles of Computer a Science. I believe that giving them a solid computer science foundation will give them both the tools and the confidence they need to compete in the uncertain job market in the future.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I spend a lot of time practicing Mandarin Chinese, to maintain my fluency. I also enjoy playing violin with my String duo and hosting game nights.
